# Demo content

> Recreate the demo store on a store of your own.

A fresh install of Frosting shows placeholders instead of sample cakes, so your own products show from day one. If you want the full demo for practice or a client preview, use the **Frosting demo kit**.

## What is in the demo kit

| Folder | What it is |
| - | - |
| `theme/frosting-demo-theme.zip` | Frosting with every section filled in: photos, videos, collections, products, pages, menus, the sale timer and the logo text. |
| `products/frosting-demo-products.csv` | 54 products in Shopify's import format, with fall-menu sale prices. |
| `media/` | 35 photos, videos and posters, named the way the demo theme expects. |
| `setup/` | A script that does the store setup in one command. |

## Quick setup with the script

You need Node.js 22 or newer.

```bash theme={null}
cd setup
npm install
node setup.mjs your-store.myshopify.com
```

Your browser opens once and asks you to approve the access. The script creates the products, collections, pages, menus and sale prices and uploads the photos and videos. Then upload `theme/frosting-demo-theme.zip` in **Online Store → Themes → Import → Upload zip file**.

## Setup by hand

The demo kit's README lists every step for setting it up without the script: custom data definitions, file upload, the product CSV import, collections, pages with their templates, and menus.

<Warning>The demo photos and videos are from Unsplash and Pexels. Use them only on demo and preview stores, and replace them with your own photography on a real shop.</Warning>
